Privacy policy

Nahati Laundry ("we") runs the laundry branches in Wandegeya, Kisenyi, Kabowa and Kasubi, the websites at nahatilaundry.online, and the Nahati Staff app used by our team. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda.
What we collect from clients
- Contact details: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, and the pickup location you give us.
- Order details: services chosen, weight, items and piece counts, special instructions, prices, payments (method, amount, and the mobile money transaction ID you share), and the order's progress.
- Photos of garments: taken at collection only to record existing stains or damage, so both you and we are protected.
- Messages: a record that we sent you a WhatsApp message or called you about your order (not the content of your WhatsApp chats).
What we collect from staff using the Nahati Staff app
- Name, phone number, role and branch.
- A PIN, stored only in scrambled (hashed) form so no one can read it.
- A random identifier for the phone, used to number orders and keep records in sync.
- Which staff member made each change to an order, payment or expense, so the business can be held accountable.
The app uses the phone's camera only when a staff member chooses to photograph a garment. It does not use your location, contacts, microphone or files.
Why we use it
- To collect, clean and deliver your laundry and keep you informed about it.
- To issue invoices, record payments and resolve any question about an order.
- To run each branch: staff work, expenses and cash records.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Staff of the branch that serves you, its manager and owner, our general manager and head office.
- Service providers that host our systems on our behalf: our own server in Kampala, and Cloudflare, which delivers our websites securely.
- WhatsApp, when you or we choose to message on it, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy.
We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for as long as needed for our accounts and tax obligations, normally up to 7 years. Garment photos are kept while the order and any claim about it are open. Staff accounts are switched off when someone leaves; their past actions stay in the records for accountability.
How we protect it
Connections to our websites and app are encrypted. Access is limited by role and branch, PINs are hashed, and the system keeps a history of every change. Backups are encrypted.
Your rights, and deleting your data or account
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Staff can ask for their Nahati Staff account to be deleted. Contact us using the details below, saying what you would like. We will reply within 30 days. Where the law requires us to keep certain records (for example, payments), we will keep only what is necessary and delete the rest.
Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
